Today is National Unlock Day. Every time you post a 🔓, donors cover the cost to unlock a day of education for someone in prison.
Seems strange, right? But if we fill the internet, we could inspire state leaders to unlock education for a million more people in prison without it.

"I am pretty impressed with Edovo. I've been in for 14 years and my prison didn't have anything close to this. We just got Edovo in October and its become a big part of the way I do my time."

"I have learned so many different things because of Edovo. I am very thankful. I think the idea of giving incarcerated persons the chance to learn and better themselves is extremely important, and I hope it reduces the statistics of re-offending after release."
Janet
North Carolina
"I have seen how impossible it is to effect the change in this system, yet, you somehow managed to shine light in the dark cracks of incarceration. A light that went countrywide. I would need a book to write down the positive comments inmates have made about Edovo."
Harley
Oregon
"I've turned my life over and am trying to better myself so I don't return back to prison and make the best of the rest of my life and my family. Thank you for giving me the chance to do good and better myself and learn new trades so I can hold a good job."

Education is the key to breaking the cycle of incarceration and empowering individuals to rebuild their lives.
But there’s still a million more people in prison who still don’t have access. Here’s why.
Permission
State, county, and federal leadership decide which programs are available. Many already have low-cost tablets in prisons, they just need to enable our platform. This campaign can be a significant key in unlocking this permission.
Awareness
Many decision makers at prison and jail facilities are not aware yet that there’s a free education platform made specifically for correctional facilities. Our united Unlock Day voices make a massive step forward in their awareness.
Funding
Doubling our infrastructure, our servers, our support takes significant resources. This campaign could be the turning point that gets us the funding we need.
The impact of this campaign.
All states, county, and federal unlock access
Right now, access to meaningful education, rehabilitation, and connection varies dramatically depending on where someone is incarcerated. Unlock Day is about removing these barriers, advocating for every incarcerated individual—whether in state, county, or federal facilities—to have access to transformative learning and communication tools. By working with policymakers, corrections leaders, and community advocates, we are pushing for a future where access isn’t a privilege, but a standard across all correctional systems in the U.S.
1 million more get access
Unlock Day is not just about advocating for systemic change—it’s about direct impact. Our goal is to expand Edovo’s reach to the other half, the one million incarcerated individuals who don't yet have access, giving them the tools they need to prepare for reentry, build new skills, and stay connected with loved ones. Every dollar raised, every voice amplified, and every partnership formed on Unlock Day brings us closer to ensuring that more people have access to high-quality education and rehabilitation resources, regardless of where they are incarcerated.
Dramatic improvement in American prison system
Mass incarceration in the U.S. has long been defined by cycles of recidivism, underinvestment, and systemic barriers to rehabilitation. Unlock Day is about shifting this paradigm. By expanding access to technology, education, and opportunity, we are working to redefine what prison systems can and should be—centers for growth, preparation, and successful reintegration into society. Unlock Day is a step toward a future where rehabilitation is prioritized over punishment, and where every facility is equipped to support transformation.
Generations impacted
The impact of Unlock Day goes far beyond those currently incarcerated. When people in prison have access to education and meaningful rehabilitation, families grow stronger, communities heal, and generational cycles of incarceration begin to break. Children of incarcerated parents are six times more likely to face incarceration themselves—but access to education, communication, and opportunity changes that trajectory. Unlock Day is about unlocking not just individual potential, but a future where incarceration is no longer passed down as an inheritance.
